What’s the difference between working out and personal training?

When a potential client contacts me, I am frequently asked “What is so great or different about personal training? Can’t I get the same benefits from working out on my own or taking a class?” While the answer seems simple to me, I can understand why someone might ask that. The advantages of personal training are countless. Personal training is just that – personal. Each client has unique goals, challenges and concerns. That’s why I speak with each potential client before developing a fitness and nutrition program for them. Since there’s only so much of me to go around, it’s also why I invest the energy in cultivating my team of High Performance Personal Trainers.

The High Performance Personal Training Team

I personally vet each and every one of my trainers to make sure they have the knowledge and ability to help you transform your body to meet your goals. Not all personal trainers are created equal. My team of trainers have years of experience with personal training, nutrition and more. Many of them are current or former athletes or fitness competitors as well. They know what it takes to get you into peak physical condition and they’re here to support your goals. My trainers know the most important person in the gym is you and are focused on your needs. You can’t say that about group classes or working out on your own.

Another important thing to note is that finding a personal trainer that’s right for you is key to your success. This is why my team is made up of a variety of trainers with their own unique personalities and approaches to your health and fitness. When I meet with a potential client, I like to get a better understanding of who they are, what their level of physical fitness is, their eating habits and what their motivation is for transforming their body. It’s important to me to get a feeling for who my client is in order to help them meet their goals. It also helps me determine who will be the best trainer for them. As I said above, finding the right trainer is the key to your success. You want to work out with someone who motives you and keeps pushing you to achieve your goals. A trainer who lets you cheat on your number of reps, or doesn’t take the time to correct your posture and position on an exercise isn’t the kind of trainer I want on my team. And ultimately isn’t the kind of trainer who helps you look and feel great.

Personal Training in Glendale CA

My nearby Pasadena personal trainers are available for gym/studio based workouts as well as home based workouts, depending upon your requirements. Remember, investing in yourself for your health and fitness is a long-term investment. It’s not a quick fix, it’s a continuous growth process, so why not find the right personal trainer to partner with in your progression.

My trainers understand that the key to your success is consistent development of muscles through weight and resistance training and building endurance through cardiovascular exercise. We focus on proper form, great posture and flexibility as well as nutrition. Your weight and measurements are tracked along with your food intake to allow us to constantly tweak your workouts and nutrition to meet your goals. If you’re not satisfied, we’re not satisfied. If you’re willing to put in the effort, you will see results.

Weight Loss, Fitness, building Muscle and Anti-Aging

I realize personal training may not be for everyone. However, if you’re reading this page, you have more than a passing interest in what it can do for you. Nearly everyone feels good after a workout. Your body is moving, you’re sweating out toxins, and your heart is pumping faster. All of these are good for you. But think about the after effects of your workout. Were you building strength or just sweating? Were you working all of your major muscle groups or just the same few you always use? Were you alternating your routines with each workout, or following the same format every time? That’s where personal training makes all of the difference. You may not spend the time thinking about your workout, but we do. It’s our job to make each workout matter, and that’s why people wisely invest in personal training.
