Pilates Method is designed to strengthen muscles by primarily focusing on
the development of a strong body center or "core" (abdominal and postural
muscles). The rest of the body can be safely stretched and conditioned. The
Pilates Method emphasizes total body alignment. Abdominal and lower back
stabilization result in improved posture, flexibility, strength, endurance
and coordination. Pilates is a
fantastic adjunct to complete any individualís conditioning program.
Pilates-style workouts can strengthen, lengthen, stretch, balance, tone, relax
AND energize your
body in a short amount of time. But you must do them at least 2 Ė 3 times per
week in order to see significant results fast. The great thing about Pilates
method exercise is that, once you learn
to do the movements well, itís extremely enjoyable.

Angeles Pilates Physical Therapist Teri, MPT, ATC, has an extensive background in rehabilitation and
fitness. She received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Mount St.
Maryís College, with emphasis on orthopedics and manual therapy. While at
UCLA, she obtained a bachelorís degree in Kinesiology and became a
certified Athletic Trainer. Teri is a certified Pilates instructor and
personal trainer. Teri provides private traditional Pilates flatbed and
Teri offers innovative
fitness and cutting-edge physical therapy. She is committed to quality
care and offers safe, effective workouts, tailored to her clientís
specific needs. Teri teaches private classes to injured and healthy
include manual therapy, back/neck pain, functional rehabilitation, Pilates
and yoga therapy, ergonomics and client empowerment via education.
